First off: No whiners, wimps, or wusses! This race was designed to test runners over rugged technical terrain. The old-school self-support style of putting out your own gear remains the same.
This was meant to be a tough race ...on purpose. If there is an option up a hill, we will mark the hardest option. The views are spectacular and picturesque, and the event is always epic.
One potential twist this year: there’s a chance we will have a few friends of ours who will become friends of yours on race weekend. These friends will be camping out at certain aid stations. If you see them, they’ll offer you some of their food and drinks. Maybe something hot when it’s cold out; and cold when it’s hot out. This isn’t anything you should count on at any certain time, and due to Covid-19 stipulations, we may not be able to offer this after all this year. But if we’re allowed, we will. And you’ll love us for it. Otherwise, the course and all the sotol and rocks are all yours!
