Horse Trailer Parking
Located on Cypress Street and 3rd Street. Day parking only, no overnights. Water trough is provided and public restrooms. For overnight with your horse please see Horse Friendly Accommodations.

Trails
Nature Trails approximately 5miles total is located at Bandera City Park, mainly at Horseshoe bend trails and frisbee golf park past 1st Street. Trails are also along Medina River at main public park where riding is allowed when its free entry to park. Please do not enter the water with the horses where people are swimming, and follow the trial rules in the park.

When riding in town, please follow general traffic rules. Horses that are not used to vehicles are advised to stay off main street. Hitching rails and water is located at 11st Cowboy Bar, TJ Old Forage and First National Ice Haus, and Bandera Visitor Center.


For Visitors meeting Horses in Bandera

Ask permission
Do not approach a horse without owners consent.

Horses are pray animals, and can be flighty for things they do not recognize, and specially things moving towards them. eg large umbrellas, loud noises and such. Never walk up close behind a horse, and always keep respectful distance. If you notice a horse acting nervous, stop your movement and talk to the horse. If a horse is loose, never try to rush up or chase a loose horse.
